Apple's "Glowtime" event yesterday introduced the iPhone 16 series, now with built-in Apple Intelligence features. But it’s not just the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max getting this new AI boost.

Apple Intelligence, which brings AI-powered writing tools, photo-editing features, summarization, and a revamped Siri, will also be coming to other Apple devices with upcoming OS updates. Not all of these features will be available right away—many will roll out over the next few months.

Here’s a look at the Apple devices that will support Apple Intelligence and when you can expect to get it.

The iPhone 16 Series

All models in the iPhone 16 lineup (iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max) are designed with Apple Intelligence at their core, as announced by CEO Tim Cook during the event.

Availability: Apple Intelligence will be accessible with the iOS 18.1 beta, expected in October.

The iPhone 15 Pro Models

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max were the first to feature Apple Intelligence, a detail shared during WWDC in June. Unfortunately, this feature is exclusive to the Pro models, leaving the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus without it.

Availability: A beta version of Apple Intelligence will be available for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max with the iOS 18.1 update in October.

All iPads with M1 Chip and Newer

In June 2024, the iPad Air and iPad Pro received significant updates, including enhanced displays and AI-powered tools for photo, video editing, and graphic design. iPads equipped with an M1 chip or newer, such as the iPad Pro with the M4 chip and the iPad Air with the M2 chip, will also have access to Apple Intelligence.

Availability: Apple Intelligence will be available in beta with the iPadOS 18.1 update in October for these models:

  • M4 iPad Pro
  • M2 iPad Pro
  • M1 iPad Pro
  • M2 iPad Air
